Word order: English SVO, Japanese SOV
Word order is the order in which phrases or words are arranged in a sentence or phrase. English word order is strictly fixed. Compering to it, Japanese word order in is more flexible. The word order in Japanese is different from English, as shown below.

English SVO Subject + Verb + Object
Japanese SOV Subject + Object + Verb
The word order in Spanish is basically the same as English, SVO, but it is not as strict as English and is quite flexible, so you can understand Spanish even if the word order is changed.
First, let’s see the case where the pronoun of the subject is first person “I” and the object is “TV.” The words “は” after “わたし”, “を” after “TV” and the verb “mimasu” will be explained later, so for now, just check its location in the sentence.
Japanese : Even if person (first, second or third), gender, or number, of the noun (or pronoun) of the subject changes, the form of the verb remains the same.
Example
- わたしは TVを みます
- アーニャは TVを みます
- I watch TV
- Anya watches TV
In English, the verb changes when the person of the subject changes from first person to third person, but in Japanese it does not change. Similarly, it does not change even if the number or gender of the subject changes.
